SLAUGHTERED LAMB! American Werewolf In London pub signs!

Shalom internet,

Here’s my take on the pub sign from An American Werewolf In London for Gallery 1988’s Crazy 4 Cult. I challenged myself to make something more complicated a bigger pain in the ass to produce than the Dr. Rockso coke mirrors and.. I succeeded!

These signs, a signed and numbered edition of just 50 pieces measure 17″ x 23″, screen printed(6 colors including metallic silver and gold) on both sides(at Broken Press) on half inch plywood, I drilled and carved and sanded out the notches myself and painted the edges as well as drilling the holes for the hanging an extremely cramped work shed at my parents house while I was home for Thanksgiving.

Here they are, front and back.

The concept was simple I wanted to make a pub sign like the one in the film but with the werewolf  illustration matching the actual werewolf in the film which the sign in the film does not.

Which makes sense, the guys in the prop department making the pub sign probably had no idea what the make up guys were doing with the werewolf.

Here’s the original scan of the line art. The rest was finished in photoshop.

And a blurry pic of the printed boards before I cut them down and started the carving and the sanding…

That about wraps it up. I think these things turned out great, they are up in the store now. If you get one, the hooks are included. I recommend hanging them with two nails or drywall screws.

And there’s a clip of the pub scene but the fucking, doesn’t have the sign in it. Couldn’t find a clip that did : (

See you later. Win Forever.
